EMS Mail Item Filing

File the import declaration for an international mail item (EMS) that came with a customs notice. Our staff will check the details and contact you.

Before you submit

  • The mail item number on the customs notice
  • Personal customs clearance code or business registration number
  • Business registration certificate (businesses, required)
  • Invoice, receipt, or order history screen
Mail item

The 13-character number on the customs notice (example: EE123456789KR).

Recipient

A code that starts with P, 13 characters in total.

You can upload up to 5 JPG, PNG, or PDF files, each 10MB or smaller and 24MB or smaller in total.

Do not upload photos of ID cards.

Purpose of collection and use
Import declaration for an EMS mail item (checking your submission, preparing the import declaration and filing it with Korea Customs Service, and keeping you informed of progress)
Items collected
Required: mail item number, individual or business, full name or company name, personal customs clearance code or business registration number, phone number, email, address, business registration certificate (businesses) / Optional: seller or shopping site, notes, purchase history files (photos, PDF)
Retention period
90 days from the date of submission. For items that proceed to an import declaration, the record is moved to the business records and kept for 5 years from the date the declaration is accepted (Customs Act, Article 12). Reply emails sent by the office are kept as business correspondence records.
Right to refuse and consequences
You may refuse to consent. However, if you do not consent, you cannot submit this form, but you can submit your request by phone or email.
