EMS Customs Clearance Tracking
Track the customs clearance status and duties of an EMS, international parcel or international registered mail item by its item number.
Enter the 13-character item number and select the mail type. If the number and the type do not match, the Korea Customs Service replies that there is no result.

Number and mail type
- Item number
A 13-character number made of 2 letters, 9 digits and 2 letters (for example EE123456789US). It is on the receipt the sender received or in the delivery tracking of the shopping site. The last 2 letters are the country of dispatch.
- Mail type
A number starting with E is often special express (EMS), C an air parcel, and R or L air registered mail. If there is no result, track again with another type.
About mail clearance
- Customs post office
- Imported mail (except letters) must pass through a customs post office designated by the Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service (Article 256 of the Customs Act). The International Mail Logistics Center is one.
- Mail inspection
- When the head of a customs post office receives mail, the head must submit a mail list to the head of customs and have the mail inspected. Mail set by the Commissioner may be exempt from inspection (Article 257 of the Customs Act).
- Mail subject to import declaration
- For the following mail, the recipient must file the import declaration (Article 258(2) of the Customs Act and Article 261 of its Enforcement Decree): goods whose import is restricted or prohibited by law, goods that need confirmation from the head of customs, goods for sale or paid for that meet the criteria set by the Commissioner, goods imported free of charge for processing trade, health functional foods and medicines, and goods above the amount set by the Commissioner.
- Clearance hold and return
- A customs post office cannot hand over to the recipient mail that the head of customs has decided cannot be imported (Article 258(1) of the Customs Act).
- Duties and total
- The duties are the taxes set by customs, and the total is the amount the recipient pays. Follow the post office's notice for payment method and deadline.
Frequently asked questions
The result says nothing was found.
Change the mail type and track again. When the number and type do not match, the Korea Customs Service replies with no result rather than an error. There is also no result if the mail has not yet reached the International Mail Logistics Center or has not been entered on the clearance list.
I received a notice to file an import declaration.
Goods for sale, goods with import requirements and goods above the amount set by the Commissioner need an import declaration before the mail can be delivered. Ubis Customs Service files import declarations for EMS mail on your behalf. Send the item number and purchase details through EMS clearance intake below.
Is the number I look up stored?
No. The number you enter is used only to send the lookup request to the Korea Customs Service UNI-PASS, and the result is shown only on this page. To prevent excessive lookups in a short time, only the number of lookups per connection address is kept, until the end of the day.
