Ministry of Food and Drug Safety

Before the Enforcement Rule of the Special Act on Imported Food Safety Control is amended, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety will apply 2 regulatory improvements early from May 15, 2025, by resolution of the Active Administration Committee.

  • Change of use of imported raw materials: A new ground is added for approving a change of use of imported raw materials for food manufacturing: "a request from a manufacturer having difficulty securing raw materials due to war, infectious disease, natural disaster, or similar causes." The existing grounds are business closure, bankruptcy, and discontinued use of the raw material.
  • Fee waiver: If an address changes for a reason not attributable to the business operator, such as an administrative district reorganization, the KRW 26,500 fee for changing the business registration is waived.
