The Enforcement Rule of the Special Act on Imported Food Safety Control was amended and promulgated on September 30, 2026.

  • Thorough inspection: For imported food with a nonconformity history, thorough inspection expands from a uniform 5 times to up to 20 times for food with a high hazard concern.
  • Purchasing agency advertising: Online purchasing agency operators must direct consumers to the "Haewoe Jikgu Sikpum Olbaro" (overseas direct purchase food) site in their advertisements.
  • Change of use: Approval of a change of use of imported raw materials is granted on request from manufacturers that have difficulty securing raw materials because of a large-scale disaster or infectious disease.
  • Offices: A business office may also be set up in a startup incubation center.
  • Documents: A training completion certificate no longer has to be submitted for business registration and succession of status, and a change report for the import and sales business alone also updates the Excellent Importer registration details.
